Job Description

This is an territory sales position based in Boston.  The ideal entry level candidate will have experience in sales or applications engineering - with some exposure to the automation, temperature and controls industry.   


Responsibilities:
  • Understandthe construction cycle and successfully influences decision-makers to maximize sales potential
  • Find and follow majorconstruction, expansion or retrofit projects with Victaulic sales potential
  • Execute all phases ofproject pursuit and project management to secure purchase order – from projectinception through design, specifications, drawings, bidding phase, jobsitetraining and support, final commissioning and after-sale follow up
  • Continuously improve customers’ written specificationsfor Victaulic products
  • Successfully launch Victaulic’sinnovative new products into the territory boosting market transition to newtechnologies
  • Gain complete information for all quotation requisitionsincluding application, specification, pricing and timing requirements
  • Developan annual business plan in conjunction with sales manager to support opportunitymapping, company sales goals, strategies and forecasts
  • Develop and implement suitable promotion plans, with thehelp and approval of sales manager, such as group presentations,  Lunch and Learn presentations, trainingseminars, branch visits and installation tours
  • Develop a completeunderstanding of products and solutions
  • Maintain a ‘hands on’presence at job sites for training, ensure proper installation and reportlessons learned to improve future construction efforts
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with regional marketspecialists, other sales representatives and any other Victaulicrepresentatives who could influence or have any dealings with the project oraccount
  • Manage a balanceddistribution network
  • Develop and maintainlasting industry relationships with clients, prospects and distributors
  • Remain attuned to markettrends and competitor activity
  • Comply with pricing guidelines or make recommendationsfor special pricing for sales manager’s approval
  • Maintain current knowledge and job skills - advising managementof any training needs
  • Lead inside sales, engineering and other support staff toensure good teamwork to meet customer requirements
  • Participate in workgroup meetings and strive forcontinuous work improvement
  • Report on activities, progress, market information, andnew ideas
  • Integrate into local trade organizations and professionalassociations – strive to become part of the fabric of the industry within the respectiveterritory
  • Track and report expenses and other relevant data asappropriate or as requested

Job Requirements

Qualifications (education, experience, personal attributes):
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1 - 4 years sales experience selling “value added” products/services; experience within automation, temperature,  controls industry is required. 
  • Demonstrated achievements in sales
