Job Description

Position:              ProductManager – Product Development Building Services and Infrastructure

Location:             CorporateHeadquarters, Engineering

Reports to:         Kurt Gobreski- Vice President - ProductDevelopment Building Services and Infrastructure


Develop product and market strategies for driving globalgrowth and profitability of the product line. Expand the business with new andrevitalized products and lead cross-functional teams through the ProductDevelopment Process.

RESPONSIBILITIESto include but not limited to:

1.            Develop plans and programs forassigned product families which achieve desired business goals - sales, profit,vitality index, market share, competitive positioning, etc.

2.            Lead the efforts to identifyopportunities for value added development opportunities and serve as a championto bring them to market. Direct and oversee initiatives and projects torevitalize existing product lines as agreed upon with the Product DevelopmentCouncil.

3.            Coordinate all components of productdevelopment programs in conjunction with Project Management and TechnologyManagement.

4.            Drive thedevelopment of an Intellectual Property Strategy for new and existing products.

5.            Attendand present at Product Development Council meetings on a regular basis.

6.            Monitormarket intelligence and competitive landscape.

7.            Monitor product profit margins,recommend pricing changes and investments as necessary to achieve desiredmargin objectives.

8.            Developproduct training for new product introductions.

9.            Provideinterface between marketing, engineering, operations, and sales, as necessary.

10.         Manageproduct portfolio through the full product lifecycle.

13.         Specific policies and procedures havebeen established by the Engineering Department to provide for the security andaccessibility of electronic data and confidential information. It is theresponsibility of the employee, in the daily course of doing business, tofollow said policies as they relate to document management (see EOG-26). Theextent to which departmental research and development information is storedelectronically has vastly increased, and will continue to do so. The newFederal rules pertaining to electronic discovery stipulate that substantiveemail communications constituted "records" under the Federal RecordsAct. It is therefore the responsibility of each departmental employee tounderstand their role in communicating via e-mails and that all e-mails must bewritten/responded to in a professional manner

Job Requirements


1.                Education Required:  Technical BS required; MBA desirable.

2.                Years of Experience:  3-5 years related project or product management and industrial market experience.

3.                Leadership – Ability to lead through influence in a matrix environment.

4.                High customer orientation – Recognition and credibility with the customer as a trusted, collaborative and productive partner.  Understands what it takes to win in the market place.

5.                New Product Development – Demonstrated track record of growing/extending existing product lines and the commercialization of new products.

6.                Financial Aptitude – Possesses strong business acumen and proficiency with necessary tools (i.e. NPV’s, Excel, Scheduling software etc. – numbers driven).

7.                Project Management skills – Exceptional planning and organizational skills.  Detail oriented.  Holds others accountable for commitments.
